The Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA) held the “Olympic Splendour · Wonderful Summer” event this afternoon, the penultimate day of the Chinese National Day holiday. The diverse activities drew a big crowd of visitors.
China’s Olympic delegation at the Paris 2024 Olympics achieved its best overseas performance since it participated in a Summer Olympics abroad, winning glory for the country and the people. The impressive performance once again inspired Chinese people’s patriotic sentiment and love for sports.
The “Olympic Culture Lecture” series, an Olympic culture promotion programme of the 15th Beijing Olympic City Sports Culture Festival, opened on 9 September, with the first interactive lecture held at Gucheng Middle School in Shijingshan District. Wang Bingyu, former leader of the Chinese women’s curling team and now a teacher at the China Snow Sports School of Beijing Sport University, came to Gucheng Middle School and gave an in-depth presentation on the Winter Olympic sport of curling. She introduced the history and rules of the sport and recounted the inspiring stories of the Chinese curling team’s efforts and achievements. The goal was to encourage the students in Beijing, the first and the only city in the world that has hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympics, to learn more about the Winter Olympics, nurture love for winter sports, keep both their mind and body fit and healthy. She also emphasised the importance of practicing and promoting the Olympic spirit through actions.
Hosted by the Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA) and co-organised by the Beijing Olympic City Development Centre and the China Administration of Sports for Persons with Disabilities, the Five-Ring Medal Challenge of the 15th Beijing Olympic City Sports Culture Festival was held at the China Administration of Sports for Persons with Disabilities in Shunyi District on 8 September.
Juan Antonio Samaranch, Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and founder and Honorary President of the Samaranch Foundation, visited the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 on 1 August, where he communicated with Chinese interns from Beijing International Studies University (BISU).
On 11, 13 and 14 July, a total of 300 teachers and students from Zhangjiakou Zhixing Primary School, Mengguying Primary School and Nancaiyuan Primary School participated in a series of Youth Olympic education activities in Beijing. The activities were hosted by the Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA).
On 22 June, sponsored by the Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA), undertaken by the Beijing Olympic City Development Centre, and with support from the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau, the Management Committee of Beijing Olympic Park Centre Area, the Beijing Olympic Museum, and the Zhangjiakou Olympic City Development Centre, the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Youth Study Tour held an opening ceremony at the Beijing Olympic Museum.
On 23 June 2024, the Beijing Olympic Museum organised a variety of public education activities, including a lecture on the Olympic flame, a fou-beating exercise session, and the parent-child sport games for an eco-friendly life, attracting the participation of 30 parents and students from 15 families.
On 23 June 2024, the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) held activities across the country to mark the 38th Olympic Day. Among them, with the assistance of Beijing Olympic Museum, it organised 46 primary school students to visit the Museum to review China’s Olympic journey and appreciate the charm of Beijing, the world’s first city to have hosted both Summer and Winter Olympics. The event was designed to encourage and guide young people to actively participate in sports, and to promote the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect.

District, among others. The gun-firing ceremony RUN GIRLS is an important mass sports event held during the 14th Beijing Olympic City Sports & Culture Festival, and it is tailor-made for female runners.
