To implement Chinese President Xi Jinping’s important instructions during his two inspection tours in Zhangjiakou and the work plans made by the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee and the Hebei Provincial People’s Government regarding the efficient use of the Winter Olympic legacy and high-quality economic development, the Panoramic Slow Live Stream of Beijing-Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Venues was launched on June 23, which marks Olympic Day. Guided by the Beijing Olympic City Development Center and the Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau, this event was co-hosted by the Zhangjiakou Municipal Sports Bureau and the Chongli District People’s Government of Zhangjiakou City, and jointly organized by the Zhangjiakou Olympic City Development Center and the Chongli District Post-Olympic Service Center of Zhangjiakou City. Focusing on the core Olympic venues and the ice and snow industry of Beijing and Zhangjiakou after the Beijing 2022 Games, the event aims to present new forms of business for the summer of 2026 and the year-round utilization of Olympic venues, serve as a regular display window for Chongli District, and enhance Zhangjiakou’ image as an Olympic city.

At a seminar on the sustainable use of the Olympic legacy, representatives from Hebei Radio and Television Station, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development Working Committee of the China Tourist Attractions Association, officials from the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Olympic venues, and experts on post-Olympic city development in Zhangjiakou discussed a range of topics including the sustainable use of the Olympic legacy in Zhangjiakou, the achievements in driving regional coordinated development, Zhangjiakou’s sports development in the last three years and the practice of engaging 300 million people in winter sports, the achievements in building the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Sports, Culture, and Tourism Belt, Zhangjiakou’s achievements in promoting winter sports and its ability to host high-level snow events, talent legacy, and the development of the ice and snow industry and urban Chongli. The participants dived into the achievements in the development and use of the Winter Olympic legacy, providing first-hand support for the systematic research and standardized utilization of the legacy and helping to explore a science-based and sustainable pathway for city and sports development.

Under the guidance of the Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau and with the support of the Beijing Olympic City Development Center, Zhangjiakou has witnessed significant development in sports, including winter sports, since it co-hosted the Beijing 2022 Games. Into the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026 to 2030), the Zhangjiakou Municipal Sports Bureau will continue to make the most of the Olympic legacy and strive to become a leading sports city. The Zhangjiakou Olympic City Development Center has organized a variety of Olympic themed cultural and sports activities, carried out Olympic education, strengthened international communication, advanced the building of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Sports, Culture, and Tourism Belt, and deepened cooperation with BODA. The Zhangjiakou Municipal Sports Bureau will continue to unlock the enduring value of the Olympic legacy, strive to make Zhangjiakou a benchmark city for the sustainable use of the Olympic legacy, and further enhance the city’s reputation as an Olympic city.

On the same day, the Zhangjiakou Municipal Sports Bureau and the Chongli District People’s Government of Zhangjiakou City launched the Panoramic Slow Live Stream of Beijing-Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Venues. They built a multi-angle, real-time slow live stream matrix for the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic venues, enabling viewers to immerse themselves in the summer vitality of each venue from anywhere. This aims to provide a long-term and authentic window into the ongoing utilization of these venues, making the warmth and vitality of the Olympic legacy tangible in every frame.
