The 13th Beijing Olympic City Sports and Culture Festival International Emerging Sports was successfully concluded on 27 August at Juyongguan Great Wall Scenic Area in Changping District, Beijing. This year's Beijing Olympic City Sports and Culture Festival International Emerging Sports was organized by the Beijing Olympic City Development Association, supported by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and co-organized by the Beijing Changping District People's Government.

This year's International Emerging Sports Tournament includes “2022 Beijing Teqball Challenge”, “Olympic Friendship Cities Cage Football International Invitation Tournament”, “Diplomats Cage Football Friendly Tournament in China” and many other events. Nearly 50 expatriates and diplomats from 14 countries in Europe, Africa, South America, Central America and the Caribbean were invited to join seven teams from the Beijing Youth Federation and the Silk Road Cities Alliance for five days of experience and exchange through international emerging sports such as boccia and cage football.

 

“The 2022 Beijing Teqball Challenge” is the most authoritative and top-level Teqball tournament in China, jointly organized by the International Teqball Federation and the Beijing Olympic City Development Association. The tournament is in line with the international billiard tournament system and aims to provide a “stylish, open and inclusive” platform for domestic billiard players and enthusiasts. The challenge attracted more than 40 billiard promotion bases and billiard enthusiasts from Beijing to participate in the tournament. A total of 12 teams emerged from the four regional qualifying rounds. After a fierce duel, Li Bowen won the men's singles category, Li Bowen and Han Yan won the men's doubles category, and Dong Gang and Xing Wei won the mixed doubles category.

Following the success of the Winter Olympics, Beijing became the world's only dual Olympic city. Meanwhile, this year marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and a number of countries. By organizing the “Olympic Friendship Cities Cage Football International Invitation Tournament”, “Diplomats Cage Football Friendly Tournament in China” and “Beijing Cage Football Invitation Tournament”, the tournament is a way to meet people and make friends, actively practicing civil diplomacy and public diplomacy, as well as a useful attempt to help build the international communication center of Beijing. The cage football tournament attracted a great deal of enthusiasm and participation from diplomats in China. The Ambassador of the Republic of Mauritius to China, Wang Chunwan, and the Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to China, Cruzseta, personally led the team in the competition. Diplomats from the embassies of 14 countries - Argentina, Cuba, Ecuador, Gabon, Nigeria, Gambia, Sudan, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Rwanda and Dominica took part in the cage football tournament. After a fierce competition, the Olympic Friendship City Team won the championship in the “Olympic Friendship City Cage Football International Invitation Tournament” and the City Youth Federation was the runner-up. The Chaoyang Youth Federation won the championship in the “Friendly Cage Football Tournament for Diplomats in China” and the Diplomats in China were the second runners-up. “Beijing Invitational Cage Football Tournament” Haidian Youth Federation won the championship and Xilu Deer Youth Team was the runner-up.
