On 13 September, Thomas Bach (C), President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), announced the host cities for the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games in Lima.

At the 131st IOC session in Lima, capital of Peru on 13 September, the IOC confirmed Paris and Los Angeles as the host cities for the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games respectively.
