Volunteer work of Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games progresses steadily

June 4 (China Youth Daily) The Volunteers Department of the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (NYOGOC) held a press conference in the NYOGOC’s press hall to specially introduce the volunteer work and answer questions put forward by the media.


The NYOGOC has planned to recruit 20,000 competition volunteers for more than 400 positions to offer general services, competition organization and ceremony services. There have been 103,000 applicants through online registry since the recruitment started on October 15, 2013. After over 30 rounds of interviews, about 18,000 local volunteers have been enrolled, including 500 language volunteers in French, Russia, Arabian, Spanish, 7,000 of which ever served in the Asian Youth Games. Volunteers recruiting work from other provinces and cities as well as foreign countries and regions have been nearly finished.
