Volunteers outside Beijing offer pre-Games services

(BEIJING, April 28) – Volunteers from Jilin Province left Beijing for home on Sunday after offering services for the "Good Luck Beijing" women's basketball international invitational tournament from April 19 to 26.

They were part of a volunteer contingent for the pre-Olympic Games sports events in April 2008, about four months before the Beijing Olympics.

In April, a total of 48 volunteers from Jilin, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Guizhou and Hebei provinces joined in the services for different tournaments spanning April 16 to 26 at the National Aquatics Center, the fencing hall of the National Conference Center, the Capital Indoor Stadium, and Wukesong Sports Center – all Olympic venues - after completing training courses for volunteers outside Beijing.

In cooperation with volunteers from Beijing's colleges and universities and managing staff of the venues, they met the needs for spectator and security services.
