Tianjin city information
Tianjin is situated on the northeastern side of the North China Plain. It faces Bohai Sea to the east and is backed by the Yanshan range to the north. It is the center of the Bohai Bay area. Tianjin is 120 km from Beijing and historically was an important gateway to the capital. It lies at the crossroads for 13 provinces and autonomous regions to the north, northeast and northwest. It is the largest port city in North China, with major links to northeast Asia. Tianjin is at the center of extensive air, ocean, rail and road transport networks.
Climate
Tianjin is in a temperate, semi-arid monsoon zone. It has four distinct seasons with a mainly continental climate. July is the hottest month with temperature ranging between 29.7 and 31.2 degrees Celsius (85.5 to 88.1 degrees Fahrenheit). Annual precipitation averages 571 mm. Between July and August, the highest daily rainfall can exceed 50 mm.
Banking
Most banks are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 17:00. 24-hour ATM machines are available throughout the city with regular deposit and withdrawal services.
City transport
Tianjin has a bus, subway and taxi network. Most buses have automatic ticketing and cost 1.50 RMB. Air-conditioned buses cost 2 RMB. Taxis cost 8 RMB for the first 3 km, after which each additional km costs 1.70 RMB. Every five minutes of waiting costs 1 km.

Venue Information
The Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium is located in the southwestern part of the city, and, together with the Center for Aquatic Sport, the Center for International Sports Exchange and the Tianjin Gymnasium, make up the Tianjin Olympic Center. There four structures are all designed in streamlined-form like water drops, with the Olympic Center Stadium as the largest.

Entry and Transport
a) Entry
There are four spectator entries: A: LINGBIN Road, B: LINGXI Road, C: WEIJIN South Road, D: BINGSHUI West Road. Spectators are recommended to enter via the entry closest to their seating sector.
b) Transport
Spectators can use the Olympic Bus Lines, city buses or taxis. Private car parking is available outside the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium; cyclists can leave their bikes in special marked areas on BINSHUI,LINGBIN and LINGXI Roads.
