Shenyang city information
Shengyang is the capital of Liaoning province and is an important transport hub between the three northeastern provinces and the rest of the country. It covers an area of 12,980 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over nine districts and three counties. The metropolitan area is 185 square kilometers.
Shenyang has a mixed population of 5.06 million people composed of 32 different ethnic groups, of which the largest are the Han, Manchu, Korean, Hui, Xibo and Mongol.
Climate
Shenyang is in the continental temperate, semi-humid zone. Although bitterly cold in winter, summer temperature can rise as high as 36 degrees Celsius (96.8 degrees Fahrenheit).
Banking
Most banks are open everyday, including weekends, from 8:30 to 17:00. ATM machines are available throughout the city with regular deposit and withdrawal services.
Transport
The public transport network is extensive and buses run frequently. This is the cheapest way to get around the city. Adult fares are 1 RMB per ride and the exact fare must be given. People must enter the bus via the front door and get off at the back. Some long distance routes charge by the distance.

Venue Information
This is situated on HUN'NAN Road in HUN'nan District. The stadium covers 253,700 square meters, and will host preliminary football matches. The roof is a large oval shape, the exterior walls are creamy white, the whole designed to look like a crystal crown decorated with olive branches on three sides.
There are food and beverage kiosks, shops, a clinic, ATMs, a smoking area, drinking fountains, toilets, information booths, and cloakrooms for stroller and wheelchair storage.

Transport
There are 12 Olympic Bus Lines open during the Games; an additional ten new stops have been added to service the Shenyang Olympic Centre Stadium. The lines will start operating 2 hours prior to the start of competition, and will continue up to one hour after the events have ended. Those spectators wishing to leave the venue before the matches end can take bus 214,238,152 and 291 lines.
