Shanghai city information
Shanghai is located on the delta of the Changjiang(Yangtze River), in eastern China, close to the East China Sea. To its south lies Hangzhou Bay, and it borders Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. Shanghai has excellent river and ocean port facilities and a highly developed transport system. It is the largest international metropolis in the Far East, and has a rich history yet is modern and dynamic. The influx of Western culture over the last century has had a huge effect on the area, and has combined with Shanghai's traditions to create a unique local urban culture.
Climate
Shanghai falls within the northern subtropical monsoon zone, with four distinct seasons, and plentiful sunshine and rainfall. The climate is mild and humid. Spring and autumn are short; 70% of the precipitation occurs during the flood season between May and September.
Transport
Shanghai is served by many different transport networks: buses (including minibuses),trams, ferry boats for crossing the Huangpu River, and light rail (including underground and overhead). They all accept the Shanghai e-pass.
Rail lines are: Line 1 (R1), Line 2(R2), Line 3 (M3), Line 4 (M4), Line 5, Line6 and Line9. There is also the Maglev line from Longyang Station to Pudong International Airport.

There are four main thoroughfares: NANJING Pedestrian Road, HUAIHAI Road, SICHUAN North Road, XIZANG Middle Road.
