Competition Rules

The wrestling competition at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be held in accordance with the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles' (FILA) International Rules and with the Olympic Charter, in force at the time of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Pursuant to the Olympic Charter, FILA assumes the responsibility for the technical control and direction of its sport in the Olympic Games. If circumstances arise that are not provided for by the FILA Wrestling Regulations, the appropriate action will be determined by the President of FILA or his Deputy.

Appointment of Referees

FILA will be responsible for the appointment of 60 Referees.
