Competition Rules

The weightlifting competition at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be held in accordance with the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Handbook 2005-2008 and the Olympic Charter, in force at the time of the 2008 Olympic Games.

Technical Congress

IWF will hold a Technical Congress on August 7, 2008, two days prior to the first competition, to finalize entries and allocate athletes and technical officials into groups.

Special Stipulation

All athletes duly entered to the Games must be available for IWF at the Olympic Village at the latest 8 (eight) days prior to their own competition, because all competitors must undergo anti-doping control.
