Competition Format
Each event shall consist of a qualification round and a final round.

Qualification Round
All athletes entered in an event will compete in the qualification round.There are no elimination rounds in the Olympic Games shooting competition.
Rifle, Pistol Final Rounds
The eight highest scoring athletes in the qualification rounds of rifle and pistol events, except for the rapid fire pistol event, will advance to the final rounds.
Rapid Fire Pistol, Clay Target Final Rounds
The six highest scoring athletes in the qualification rounds of the rapid fire pistol event and the clay target events will advance to the final rounds.
Finals
Final scores are determined by the aggregate scores of the qualification round and the final round. The highest scoring athlete will be the winner
