Competition Format

Individual Competition

The individual competition is an All-Around competition, including qualification and final, consisting of four apparatus exercises, namely rope, hoop, clubs and ribbon. All of the routines have musical accompaniment.

Gymnasts compete in two of the apparatus on one day and in the other two on the next day. The top 10 gymnasts with the highest total score on all four apparatus in the qualification round advance to the final. Scores from the qualification round do not carry over to the final. The winner is the gymnast with the highest score in the finals.

Group Competition

Twelve groups of six gymnasts (five members per routine) perform two exercises. One exercise is performed with 5 ropes and the other exercise is performed with 3 hoops + 2 clubs.

The eight groups with the highest total score in the two exercises advance to the final. The group with the highest total score of the two exercises in the final is the winner.
