For Road Cycling, 212 athletes, including 67 women and 145 men, will be competing.
ROAD:
ATHLETE NUMBERS
The overall athlete number across the four cycling disciplines is a target total of 500 athletes (men and women).
MAXIMUM PER NOC
Mass start events: If qualified through the UCI Nation rankings, an NOC can enter up to 5 men and 3 women. Otherwise, an NOC can enter a maximum of 2 riders per gender Time trial events: An NOC may enter 2 men and 2 women maximum
ALLOCATION OF QUALIFICATION
Qualification is attributed to the NOC
Road:
Each athlete who meets the selection criteria in an individual event qualifies his/her NOC for a place in this event.
Within the target athlete number of 500 athletes, all of the athletes who have qualified, and whose participation in one of the cycling disciplines has been confirmed, will have the right to enter other cycling events provided that the limits for participation per NOC and per event are not exceeded.
