Competition Rules

The badminton competition at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be held in accordance with the rules of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), the Laws of Badminton as stated in the Statutes book and the Olympic Charter, in force at the time of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Pursuant to the Olympic Charter, BWF assumes the responsibility for the technical control and direction of Badminton in the Olympic Games.

Appointment of Referees/Umpires

BWF will be responsible for appointing referee, three deputy referees and 24 umpires of international level.
