Russia to join USA synchronized swimming team in June

(BEIJING, June 17) -- The Russian Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team will join Team USA at the annual Walnut Creek Night of Champions on June 21 in California, according to the USA Synchronized Swimming website.

It will be the first time that teams from the two countries will come together for a pre-Olympic exhibition. The warm up competition will provide an opportunity for both teams to perfect their performances before the Summer Games in August.

The Russians are the reigning world champions and were first place finishers at the 2004 Olympic Games. Team USA won bronze in Athens.
