(BEIJING, August 13) -- Another five world records were set in the Swimming competition at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, making Beijing 2008 the most successful Games in more than 30 years with 15 world records broken in Swimming.

Only 1972 Munich (28) and 1976 Montreal (26) produced more world records in the Swimming event.

Wednesday August 13 was already the second time at Beijing 2008 that five world records were set on one day. On August 11, the same feat occurred.

Only twice in history were more world records set on the same Olympic Day. On September 4, 1972 and July 22, 1976, six world records were set in the Swimming competition.

With the heats in the Women's 100m Freestyle, Men's 200m Backstroke and Women's 200m Breaststroke coming up later Wednesday, these figures could change.
