(BEIJING, July 1) -- Another record breaking day came to close at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Nebraska. All eyes were on the women's 100m backstroke semifinals where Hayley McGregory took first-place with a time of 59.48 and Natalie Coughlin coming in second at 59.74. McGregory's win comes after breaking the world record earlier that day in the preliminary rounds, only to have it reclaimed in the next heat by Coughlin in a record 59.03.

Women's 100m Butterfly Final

Winning the 100m butterfly Christine Magnuson (58.11) earned her first trip to the Olympics. Magnuson set the Trials record in last night's semifinals with a time of 57.50. In second place Elaine Breeden (58.21) is also likely to gain a spot on the U.S. team.

Women's 400m Freestyle Final

Coming in first and second-place in the 400m free, swimmers Katie Hoff (4:02.23) and Kate Ziegler (4:03.92) earned their place on the U.S. Olympic Team. Both beat Janet Evan's 20-year-old meet record of 4:06.43 in yesterday's prelims.

Men's 100m Breaststroke Final

Athens medal winner, Brendan Hansen, will be headed to his second Olympic Games after winning the 100m breaststroke final in 59.93. Coming in second at 1:00.42, Mark Gangloff took the second Olympic berth. Hansen was short of his previous world record time of 59.13 set two years ago.

Men's 200m Individual Medley Semifinal

A day after their battle in the 400m individual medley, Ryan Lochte (1:45.61) takes first–place over Michael Phelps (1:45.64) in Men's 200m freestyle semifinal.

Women's 100m Breaststroke Semifinal

Rebecca Soni took first place in the 100m breast with a time of 1:06.87; Megan Jendrick placed second in 1:07.17

Men's 100m Backstroke Semifinal

Randall Ball won first place in the Men's 100m back with a time of 53:09 after breaking the Trials meet record yesterday in prelims. Current world record holder in this event, Aaron Peirsol came in second at 53:26.
