(BEIJING, June 11) -- Thirty-six judoka from eleven African countries have won tickets to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, reports Xinhuanet.
Of the 36 judoka, 26 are from Northern Africa, where Judo is popular. Ten are from Algeria, seven are from Tunisia and the rest are from Morocco, Egypt and Libya. In last year's All-Africa Games, Northern African countries claimed almost all the medals in Judo.
Ten other judoka in Beijing will represent Senegal (3), South Africa (3), Congo(1),Madagascar (1), Cameroon (1) and Nigeria (1).
