Germany's Britta Heidemann won the Olympic gold medal in the Women's Individual Epee event here on Wednesday:

Heidemann defeated Ana Maria Branza of Romania 15-11 in the final.

Hungarian Ildiko Dr Mincza-Nebald edged out China's Li Na 15-11 to grab the bronze medal.
