Temporary traffic control to take effect for Diving World Cup

(BEIJING, February 19) -- A temporary traffic control will be implemented surrounding the National Aquatics Center, or the "Water Cube," which will host the 16th FINA Diving World Cup scheduled for February 19-24.

The World Cup, which doubles as an Olympic diving qualifier, has attracted 296 divers from 56 nations and regions. Spectators cannot wait to see big names Guo Jingjing of China and diving czar Dmitry Sautin.

The temporary traffic control will cover roads surrounding the "Water Cube" and vehicles are banned from parking on both sides of the roads.

On February 19, 20, 22 and 23, the control will put into effect from 8 am to 9 pm; on February 21 and 24, the control will put into use from 8 am to 10:30 pm; on February 25, the control will take effect from 8 am to 9:30 pm.

The city's traffic management department appeals to people to get to the "Water Cube" by public transport.
