(BEIJING, August 19) -- Great Britain broke four records during five days of competition in Cycling Track at the Laoshan Velodrome.
Chris Hoy set an Olympic record in Men's Sprint qualifying in the 200m Flying Start in 9.815 seconds. The world record of 9.772 was set by Theo Bos of the Netherlands in Moscow in 2006.
Bradley Wiggins set an Olympic record in qualifying for the Men's Individual Pursuit in 4:15.031. Chris Boardman holds the world record of 4:11.114 set at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games.
Great Britain set an Olympic and world record in first round qualifying for the Men's Team Pursuit. On the next night, the team broke that again, clocking 3:53:314 en route to the gold medal.
Victoria Pendleton set an Olympic record in Women's Sprint qualifying in the 200m Flying Start in 10.963 seconds. The world record of 10.831 was set by Olga Slysuareva of Russia in 1993.
