(BEIJING, August 17) -- World No. 10 Lee Hyo-jung and Lee Yong-dae of the Republic of Korea pulled off the biggest upset in the Beijing Olympic Badminton tournament after they coasted to a straight-sets win over World No. 1 pair Liliyana Natsir and Nova Widianto of Indonesia in the Mixed Doubles final on Sunday, August 17.
The final showdown, gone in 39 minutes with a 21-11, 21-17 ROK victory, turned out to be a disastrous ousting for the heavily favored World No. 1, who dominated the event in recent years.
On the previous day, the ROK's two Lees stunned another Indonesian pair, third-seeded Flandy Limpele and Vita Marissa, in a thrilling three-game match to qualify for the finals.
