BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- China continued its dominance as LuBin and Yan Mingyong finished one-two at the Gymnastics pre-Olympic event here on Sunday.

28-year-old Lu Bin, who already snatched a pommel horse gold a day earlier, scored 16.00 points to take the rings at the "Goodluck Beijing" Beijing Gymnastics International Invitational.

His teammate Yan Mingyong took the silver with 15.900. French gymnast Pinheiro Rodrigues had the bronze with 15.700.

"I had expected a vault gold, but had not expected a rings gold. I am very satisfied. It's a wonderful surprise," said Lu Bin.

Lu, captain of the Chinese men's team in this tournament, began gymnastics at the age of six. He is a powerful vaulter and had won several World Cup series vault titles.

It's the first time for him to compete in a major event since he got injured 14 months ago.

Yan Mingyong also said he is satisfied with his performance.

"I did a Maltese cross today. Since I did it at the end of my routine, it's a little difficult to hold it," he said.

"The difficulty degree is 7.4, higher than that of Lu Bin, but the quality of his movement is better than me," he said.
