Capital Airport Track airport stations want names

(BEIJING, September 4) -- The Capital Airport Track, the 28.5-km line from Dongzhimen to the Capital International Airport is soliciting the names of its two stations (under construction) at the Airport.

The track starts from Dongzhimen, the interchange station of Loop Line 2, and runs northeast through Sanyuanqiao, Siyuanqiao, and Wuyuanqiao before dividing into two sub-tracks to the Airport Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

Citizens are free to submit the names for the stations at Airport Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, while names for other two stations had been designated as Dongzhimen station and Sanyuanqiao station.

The Capital Airport Track is a high-speed public transport rail project that aims to provide a convenient way for people to get to and from the Beijing Capital Airport located in the far northeastern area of the city. The line will connect at Dongzhimen station, and the ride to the airport from Dongzhimen will only be 15 to 17 minutes. And the track will also be connected with the Line 10 (under construction) at Sanyuanqiao Station.

The track runs along four km of underground tracks and the remaining 23 km are on-ground tracks. In time of completion, trains on the track are expected to travel at a speed of 100 km/h.
