Tianjin emergency motorcade leaves for Beijing to transport Olympic volunteers

(BEIJING, August 3) -- Due to the notice issued by the National Department of Transportation regarding transporting Beijing Olympic volunteers, Tianjin's transport system organized an emergency motorcade composed of 25 buses, which departed for Beijing this morning.

This emergency fleet is entirely comprised of luxury buses that meet required emission standards and are equipped with a sufficient number of drivers and maintenance personnel. After arriving in Beijing, the buses will be arranged by the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee to transport volunteers to and from the Beijing Medical University, Beijing Institute of Technology and Olympic venues.
