Shenyang welcomes Olympics with huge green art

(BEIJING, July 26) -- Shenyang, Olympic co-host city for football events, was recently decorated with 20 large-scale green sculptures made of plants in the likeness of Olympic symbols.

According to Xinhua, each piece of artwork is unique and innovative, representing a warm welcome for the Games, nature, and harmonious living, among other themes.

Visitors and residents alike have expressed immense interest for the sculptures, stopping by to snap pictures with the huge decorations. One notable piece is the enormous one in the city government plaza, which is 20 meters in length, and required over 20,000 flowers to create. Some citizens are so pleased with them that they hoped the sculptures would be preserved in their city for a long time.
