(SHANGHAI, August 1) -- To ensure the safety of long-distance passengers during the Olympic period and to provide more convenient services for tourists, the Shanghai South Station serving long-distance passengers announced on July 31 that it will allow Olympic Games ticket holders to order train tickets online for free.

Shanghai is home to one of the main stadiums for Beijing Olympic football competitions. Therefore, during Games-time, the number of long-distance passengers will surely increase by a large number. The website of the Shanghai South Station for long-distance passengers (www.ctzn.net) will provide relevant information on train routes and schedule times to allow these visitors to better enjoy the Olympics. Olympic Games ticket holders may book train tickets online for free and arrive at the station a mere hour before their train is scheduled to depart to retrieve their tickets.

Furthermore, during the Olympic period, the Shanghai South Station serving long-distance passengers will have a five-member volunteer team composed of an English-speaking station attendant, a medic, and three staff members ready to provide help and warm services. In addition, a service cart in the waiting hall filled with medicine and drugs available for passengers and free brochures containing information on places to eat, stay and shop near the train station will also be provided.
