(BEIJING, July 26) -- Lam Woon-kwong, chairman of the Hong Kong Olympic Equestrian Association, said his company will continue to strengthen security at equestrian venues in Hong Kong and will make sure that there are enough safeguards in place during the Olympic Games.
Lam said that three companies are able to help with security, ensuring that there will be backup staff available in case of emergencies. The Hong Kong Olympic Equestrian Association will be in charge of the safety of venues in Shatin and Beas River. It has been reported that over 300 workers will be involved in the effort. The Hong Kong police will be responsible for maintaining public order.
Olympic Equestrian events begin on August 9 and conclude August 21 in Hong Kong.
