(BEIJING, September 30) -- Tian'anmen Square has been transformed into a magnificent flower park. In its east corner, a large crowd stopped to enjoy the flower landscape sculptures of the Acropolis, the Great Wall, the 2008 Olympic Torch Relay logo, 2008 Olympic Pictograms, etc.

Some major parks in the Olympic City have also formed a variety of Olympic-style landscapes with colorful flowers. At the Ditan Park, 12 Olympic flowers compose an "Olympic orchestra" flower bed, while at the Yuyuantan Park, a sports-themed parterre has been set up.

According to the Beijing Gardening and Greening Bureau, Beijing has set out a total of 20 million pots of flowers for the week-long National Day holiday and hundreds of Olympic-themed flower beds throughout the city.

During the Olympics and Paralympics, twice the current amount of flowers will be used to form parterre, flower belts and flower containers as decoration for Tian'anmen Square, the Olympic Green, the Olympic venues, as well as along Chang'an Avenue. So far, the city has selected 576 different types of flowers for the decoration, with some flowering till early September.
