(BEIJING, July 16) -- The Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games have attracted a number of foreigners for volunteer work, some of whom will be part of the volunteer workforce come Games-time. Mr. Bruce Lerch II from the USA, who is a volunteer at the Main Press Center, expressed excitement and joy regarding his special role at a press conference on Wednesday.
As a graduate student studying journalism at Emerson College, Bruce said it was an honor for him to be part of the Beijing Olympic Games. He remarked that he would like to represent his own country, as well as to welcome friends all over the world to Beijing.
"We would be able to tour the city. The Great Wall, the Ming Tombs, the Summer Palace are really exciting. It is a great thing for us to see. It has been really nice as an American to come here, to see what life is really like in Beijing, in China," Mr. Lerch said.
