(BEIJING, July 2) -- U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon lauded National Stadium after visiting the venue, the main stadium for the Beijing Olympic Games, on Wednesday.

He praised the project, which will hold the Olympic opening ceremony, a grand event to enhance mutual understanding and harmonious co-existence between athletes and visitors from around the world on August 8, 2008.

With excellent venues and facilities and orderly organization work, the Beijing Games will be the most successful Olympics, Ban said.
