(BEIJING, November 28) -- BOCOG Executive Vice President Jiang Xiaoyu met Wednesday with world-renowned Italian composer Giorgio Moroder.

Moroder's accolades include composing hit theme songs for the Los Angeles 1984 Olympics ("Reach Out") and the Seoul 1988 Olympics ("Hand in Hand") as well as for the 1990 FIFA World Cup ("Un estate italiana").

Moroder, a multiple-time Academy and Grammy award winner, established a friendship with China years ago when he wrote the song "Good Luck Beijing" for the city's first bid for the Olympics.

Over the past two years, Moroder has worked with Chinese pianist Kong Xiangdong and a cross-cultural team to produce "Forever Friends," a song for the fourth edition of the Olympic song search campaign. The song reflects influence from the music of different ethnic minorities around China and expresses the theme of the Olympics and friendship.

"Forever Friends" debuted August 8 at Beijing's Tian'anmen Square for the one-year countdown celebration for the 2008 Olympic Games.
