(BEIJING, July 24) -- The legal standing A one-year circular aimed at strengthening the legal publicity for the XXIX Olympiad was launched recently.
According to official documents released for the circular, most efforts will concentrate on publicizing the Olympic-related laws and regulations, introducing the international obligations that China undertakes to hold Olympic Games, briefing on the Olympic rules and international practices, publicizing laws and regulations of IPR protection and raising people's legal awareness on using Olympic symbol and having them informed of punishments to violators.
It is reported that the publicity of laws and regulations related to Beijing Olympics is a key part of the 2007-2008 legal publicity and education program. Drastic measures will be taken to enhance the legal publicity concerning Olympic service and security,public safety, social management and service, as well as cultural and sporting undertakings.
Other highlights include strengthening the legal education and training of the people living around Olympic venues, Olympic volunteers and staff involved in the Olympic preparation and organization, improving the legality level of Olympics organization works, enhancing the legal consciousness of the ordinary citizens with a view to promoting the development and prosperity of mass sports activities in accordance with law.
The circular also gives high priority to the legal training of government departments and institutions, the BOCOG and related service and logistic units so as present a sound legal and social image.
Five government organs, the Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee, Ministry of Justice, State General Administration of Sports, BOCOG, and State Bureau for Law-popularizing jointly organized the circular.
