(BEIJING, July 29) -- The Russian Olympic squad of 467 athletes was unveiled on July 28.
Chairman of the Russian National Olympic Committee Leonid Tyagachev announced that his country's delegation includes a total of 847 members. In terms of the number of athletes as well as delegation size, Russia ranks third, only behind China and the United States.
The Russian athletes will participate in all events except Football, Baseball, Softball, Hockey, Taekwondo, Cycling BMX and Men's Water Polo.
Tyagachev expects the team to rank among the top three at the Games, taking home around 80 medals, 30 of them gold.
