BEIJING, Dec. 29 -- China Central Television (CCTV), the country's largest TV
network, will change the name of the sports channel from CCTV-5 to the Olympic
Channel from January 1 to September 30 next year.
The launch of the channel means the start of comprehensive coverage of the
2008 Beijing Olympic Games, CCTV Vice-President Sun Yusheng said at a news
conference on Friday.
The network hopes to use the opportunity of the Olympics to increase its
international influence.
