Smiles sought for Olympic ceremonies

(BEIJING, August 13) -- The creation team led by chief director Zhang Yimou is seeking some 10,000 children's smiling faces for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Their smiles will be displayed artistically to express the theme of One World One Dream, Zhang was quoted by Xinhua News Agency as saying.

The team intends to assemble the smiling faces of different people with different colors from different regions of the world, the report said.

Zhang and his colleagues are examining the implementation measures and thinking about whether to use the applicants' photographs or their video snaps.
