Good afternoon, in compliance with the requirement of the image and look project and initiative of Olympics and Paralympics and to enrich the visual message of the Olympics, we have finished shooting the official pictures for Beijing 2008 Olympics and Paralympics so as to promote the philosophy of this great event. Now I am going to give you a brief presentation.
The official images are a priority of IOC, in compliance with the general planning and preparation of Beijing Olympics and based on past experiences, we have finalized the official images. When these pictures and images are on display in the major communities and venues of the Games, they will deliver a visual shock to the public. They helped to promote the profile Beijing and China, highlight the philosophy of Olympics, and appeal to the general public. It is important to deliver the message of the Olympics and highlight the profile of the Games.
First of all, I would like to talk about the applications and scope of these official pictures. According to the Olympic tradition, there images and pictures can be put into wide application, such as in Olympic Park, in sports venue, in tourist attraction, and major communities. They can also be combined with other elements for the Olympic banners and the look of Olympic venues. Another application would be publication.
Next I am going to talk about the process of shooting. In June of 2007, Getty Images China Holding Company won our bid, to shoot the official pictures and images for 2008 Olympic Games. The company has finalized their concept and the timeline for shooting and also specified the costume, model and style.
All these images can be broken down into three categories. The first is themed with sports and events of Olympic Games and Paralympics. It has 45 sports themed pictures on events of Olympic and Paralympics Games.
And second group is focused on the friendship and fraternity of Chinese people. We have 12 pictures for this category.
Third category is focused on the features and characteristics of Beijing. This category has 9 pictures depicting the conventions, traditions and landmarks of Beijing.

The First
I am from The First. I have two questions for you. First of all, I would like to know the designers and studios behind the selected posters; second is that we know that for the people's team posters, you have demonstrated the smiling face of young and elderly persons. Can you tell us their identity? Do they have any special background?

First of all, the designer is a group of the winning design. It is composed of 9 designers from four institutes and two studios lead by Professor He Jie. The three persons depicted in the official posters are selected from the recommendation of Getty Images. We mainly configured their visual appeal as well as their characteristics native to China. You can see the Chinese characteristics from the things they hold in their hands.

The posters will be made available to the public on July 20th. And the circulation volume is expected to be 100,000.
Beijing News
I am from the Beijing News. First of all, who will be the publisher of the official posters and what will the price be? Secondly, I am curious about why there are no star athletes in the posters and why do you decide to take the combination of the 'Water Cube' and the Temple of Heaven?

The price is set at 10 RMB a piece. We have designated Beijing Morning Post under Beijing Daily Group as the official publisher of the posters. The posters will be available at franchised kiosks.
With regard to the concept of our design, first of all, it took us a lot of research to make the decision that we need to highlight the characteristics of both Beijing and China and also highlight the cultural and historical wealth of Beijing, as well as the process and achievement of modern history. That's why we have combined the classical landmark such as the Temple of Heaven and the Forbidden City with the latest landmarks such as the 'Bird's Nest and the 'Water Cube'. We also have decided to take this combined design so as to be consistent with the traditional style of Chinese painting. This is unprecedented in the Olympic history.
China Radio International
I am from China Radio International. Just now we took a brief look at the official images and pictures of the Olympic Games. We can see Asian faces, western faces, as well as African faces. What is the composition between the different people and what is the consideration of selecting the people? Do they represent the most competitive events and sports in their continents?

I would like to take your questions. First of all, the models have been selected by Getty Images and we have deliberately selected different skin colors to highlight the global features of the Olympic Games. I would also like to answer another question raised by the lady before. She asked why we failed to include the star athletes in the design. I can tell you that the Olympic Games serve as the role model in the IPR compliance and these posters and images will be extensively display in the Olympic venues. However, according to relevant regulations, the posters and images should not bear the likeness of the athletes in the specific venues.

I would like to announce the conclusion of the press conference today. Next Monday (July 21), we are going to have a press conference at 11 a.m. at the 800-seated conference hall. It will be about the literacy campaign of Olympic Games for the young people. We will have special guests from the Ministry of Education and Beijing Bureau of Education. Thank you for your time.
