(BEIJING, December 6) -- The "Good Luck Beijing" 2007-2008 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics will begin on December 7, 2007. As the event is full of exciting adventure. it attracts 75 teams of athletes with a total of 396 cyclists from 47 countries and regions.

The press conference for the world cup was held on November 6, 2007 in Laoshan Velodrome, the competition venue.

The UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics consists of 17 events both for men and women. Seven of the nine men's and three of the eight women's competitions are Olympic events.

According to the press conference, no bicycle in this competition can be installed with speed changing devices or brakes, which makes the game more risky and exciting.

After the competition begins, spectators will see cyclists wearing various strange-looking helmets set out on bicycles with only one gear and no brakes. The starting time between two athletes is 90 seconds. The goal is to cycle around the track within the shortest amount of time. They look like they are flying around the wall.

The UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics is one of the qualification events for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Therefore, many athletes from various countries registered, including China, who sent its strongest team forth.
