On March 27, Wu Jingmi, Secretary General of Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA) met with a delegation led by Mr. Alain Rumpf, Director of Global Cycling Promotions SA (GCP), a wholly owned subsidiary of International Cycling Union (UCI). The two sides had talks on coordinated efforts in the promotion and cultural activities of the 2012 Tour of Beijing (hereinafter referred to as the “Tour”).
Wu Jingmi said, last year, BODA, as a member of Organizing Committee of the Tour, undertook the organization and implementation of related cultural activities, and achieved good results.
Mr. Rumpf noted that, the cultural activities held by BODA last year were very successful and the cooperation between the two sides was pleasant, too. He hoped to continue the cooperation with BODA this year and spare additional efforts to promotional activities around the route, exploiting and piloting more on promoting city tour, city transportation, teenager sports, Sport for All, leisured life, etc.
Wu Jingmi said, under the overall arrangement of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports, BODA would continue the planning and organization of the cultural activities of the Tour in 2012. Relevant preparation work was about to commence comprehensively. In order to let more citizens learn about the Tour, BODA plans to promote the Tour in the Beijing Olympic City Sports & Cultural Festival to be held during July and August this year.
Han Wen and Zhao Wei, Vice Secretary Generals of BODA, were present in the meeting.
