On March 9, 2012, in the run-up to the World Cup 2022, a group of three Qatari guests headed by the celebrity Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, visited Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA), to learn from BODA for its experience in the Beijing Olympic venues design and venue operations.
Wu Jingmi, Secretary General of BODA, presided over the meeting and introduced the general information of BODA. He pointed out that, to better carry on the Olympic legacy and promote Olympic knowledge, BODA, by virtue of the expert team developed from the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games, has offered extensive services to all major international competition events.
Song Qiang, expert of BODA and Head of the Research Office of Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, elaborated on the experience in all aspects concerning the Beijing Olympic Venues, such as the bid invitation, design and operations; he also answered in detail relevant questions from Mr. Hamad.
Mr. Hamad expressed that China has rich experience in organizing and staging major international competition events, and he was grateful for the important support and enormous help China has provided; he also hoped that there would be more exchange and cooperation opportunities between BODA and Qatar in the future.
Han Wen, Vice Secretary General of BODA and relevant personnel from the International Relations Department of BODA were present at the meeting.
