(BEIJING, January 22) -- Popular singer Jay Chou plans to impress fans on May 1 with a performance of his first composition this year at a concert in Beijing on the occasion of the 100-day countdown to the Beijing Olympic Games.
The Beijing performance will be the seventh stop on his world tour, and he will take the Workers' Stadium, a football venue for the Olympics, as his stage.

What he will offer to his fans is a song created for the Beijing Olympics, in response to a request from the Olympic organizers for songs from worldwide composers.
Although the solicitation campaign has not finished yet, Chou's melody is ready, and he would like to treat his fans to it first, when the Olympics are just 100 days away,he told a press conference in Beijing on Tuesday. He is still awaiting contributions from writers around the world to match his melody with the appropriate lyrics.

At the press conference, Chou received a special souvenir from BOCOG (Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad) -- a metal model of the National Stadium (the "Bird's Nest") in appreciation of his support for the Olympic cultural activities.
