(BEIJING, July 15) -- The hills ARE alive with the sound of music ...

Perhaps not the hills but certainly the mountains surrounding the Badaling section of the Great Wall were reverberating with music Sunday, when 1,500 youth from the U.S., UK, etc. performed "The Olympic Games: A Centennial Celebration."

An hour before the performance atop the Great Wall, local tourists on hand helped kick off the day's festivities when they joined the UK band in song and dance.

At 5 p.m., a representative of the Beijing Tourism Administration sounded a bugle call in support of the Olympic Games and instantly the 1,500 youth band members began their musical performance of the piece entitled "The Olympic Games: A Centennial Celebration" to the delight of the Badaling tourists.

The event performed atop the Great Wall, entitled "Ascending the Great Wall, Blowing the Olympic Horn," was part of the 5th Olympic Cultural Festival.
