(BEIJING, June 25) -- The Olympic Music Park, one of the featured events on the program of the Fifth Beijing 2008 Olympic Cultural Festival, opened at the China Millennium Monument on Sunday night.
An audience of over 1,200 enjoyed the performance by professional and amateur artists in addition to sport competitions and an Olympic knowledge quiz.
Open-air music parties are designed to encourage mass participation in the Olympic preparations. With a novel stage design and new items on the program, it is a grand opportunity for people to interact in a festive atmosphere.
The music park will feature song recitals and choir music, instrumental music concerts and traditional opera performances. The concerts will take place from June 24 to July 14, 7:00pm-9:00pm, at the China Millennium Monument.
