(BEIJING, January 6) -- To meet the demands of the Olympic Games and post-Games competitions, the Beijing Olympic Basketball Gymnasium has been equipped with a unique multi-color and high-definition LED display system.
The three-component system, the first of its kind in China, includes a funnel-shaped 22-ton TV display with eight screens; a 270m-long display system around the stands; and a Games-time score and time control system, according to a Beijing Youth Daily report.
The funnel-shaped screen device is a five-tier, 9m-tall lift, which can move to the best position for the spectators. Its screens can display text and graphical information, including real-time competition scenes, score and time reports, athletes' situations, and commercials.
The circular display system is set up along the inner corridor of the venue's first floor, comprising a total of 110 screens, which can heighten the atmosphere of excitement and display competition information.
The score and time control device is a professional integrity judging system that can relay the real-time results to the display screens.
