(BEIJING, Dec. 28) -- Construction on the Olympic Green hockey and archery fields kicked off today.

The fields are located inside the Olympic Green, the northern end on the city's axial line. The Hockey Field covers an area of 11.87 hectares with two courts and can seat a crowd of 17000. The Archery Field occupies 9.22 hectares with a seating capacity of 5000.

The two projects are designed for temporary use in the 2008 Games and will be converted into green belt after the Games.
