(BEIJING, August 12) -- The Olympic Green Archery Field's final round competition range forms a "V" shape, with the opening to the "V" facing north. The bleachers, equipped with yellow seats, are located on the east, west, and north sides of the range. None of the bleachers are placed directly behind the targets.
"This is to ensure that spectators will have a good view," explained Wu Xiaonan, a project manager for hockey and archery at the Beijing State-owned Assets Management Co., Ltd. The spectators will be able to see every arrow shot, every aspect of the competition.
Additionally, the placement of the bleachers was determined with consideration to the spectators' safety and to the athletes' performance.
The spectators will be seated behind the athletes and to their sides, with ample distance separating the spectators from both the athletes and targets, thereby minimizing any possible distractions spectators may cause for the athletes during competition.
