Updated:2007-08-12

(BEIJING, August 12) -- The 9.22 hectare Olympic Green Archery Field, located inside the Olympic Green in the Chaoyang District of Beijing has the adjacent Olympic tennis center on its north and the Olympic hockey field situated to its south.

As the archery venue for the 29th Olympic Games, four Olympic gold medals, in women's and men's archery events, will be earned here next August.

Intended as a temporary venue, the archery field uses a rare find among steel structures -- a lightweight steel structure that's both easy to set up and to dismantle, thereby speeding up construction time.

Following the Olympic Games, the archery field and the likewise temporary hockey field will be easily modified to for use as a part of the post-Games Olympic Green recreation center project.
