
(BEIJING, August 12) -- The Olympic Green Archery Field has been completed and delivered to the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.
As a venue for archery competitions during the 2008 Olympic Games, it will see both men and women for Olympic gold.
However from August 20-26 of this year, it will be used for Good luck Beijing 2007 International Archery Tournament.
One of the eight temporary venues of the Beijing Olympics, ground breaking of this new facility started on December 28, 2005.Located on the Olympic Green, the field adjoins the Olympic Tennis Center in the north and buttresses the Olympic Hockey Field in the south.
With a total area of 9.22 hectares, it covers a floor space of 8,609 square meters. The venue has three archery fields, including one for ranking games and two for medal rounds. Four bus lines are operating along side the field now and a new subway line running to the area is slated in 2008.
