(BEIJING, October 25) -- "People first" has remained an important concept throughout the construction of the Olympic projects.
Take, for example, the Beijing Shooting Range CTF, where the spectator stands are built at a 22-degree angle to enhance visibility. In addition, an awning protects 60 percent of the permanent spectators seats from rain and the sun, creating an all-weather venue.
Another unique venue -- the Olympic Green Archery Field -- is the only archery venue in the world with spectator stands on three sides. The bleachers are located on the east, west, and north sides of the field, forming a "V" shape.

None of the bleachers are directly behind the targets to ensure that spectators will have a good view and with consideration to the spectators' safety and to the athletes' performance.
The builders have considered the specific needs of various populations -- especially the needs of people with a disability as outlined in the International Paralympic Committee's "Technical Manual on Venues."
